Hi, I been working for Lloyds Bank for almost 9 years now , I recently attended a interview for Barclays and offered an Senior Business Analyst AVP role in Wealth and private banking area. I did not see much difference in the salary offered and it is pretty much same ie 68.5k.But the difference is current role is London based, however the Barclays one is based in Glasgow where cost of living is less in comparison. I am unable to decide whether to take the offer or not..any suggestions will be helpful pls.

Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

Which area and skillset?
Never move for less than 20%
Could be reasons why you would not get it, but my question to you would be why move if you are that close to manager? Moving will reset you in your current title while you rebuild your network and reputation again. I would personally only move immediately after promotion to not set back my progress.
Oh. I'm P4... Sorry. Being a long day already 😅
P2 out of curiosity what is your group? Why so harsh, jeez!
Financial services. Very specific experience in an area that is growing and for which they are understaffed. Nyc.
Total years exp? Mba?
Ask for Mgr
What area are you in?
@K1 that seems like a high bar, is that really realistic? Really just curious, not challenging you on it
103K sounds nice. I'm at your level (I think? Third year SC) and not even close 😞
Agree with K1. You are gonna lose 1 yr of 401k match plus some benefits (maternity leave etc) kick in only after 12 months seniority. So the ~20% ballpark bump helps cover these things too.
It is pretty standard in consulting. I have not talked to someone who moved and was not able to achieve it
Make sure it's at least what you'd be getting next year at PwC. You'll probably get a tiny raise the first year to adjust and you'll have to stay a Sr for another year.
@K1, i am getting only a 13% raise plus signing bonus. I am pretty sure i wont get more since it pushes the salary into manager territory!
I want to push for manager
I will not get a promotion in my group for next few years for sure. We have a 2:1 manager to senior ratio. Ever heard about that?
Why p2?
OP, def push for manager. Speaking from experience, You'll be set back 1-2 years if you don't. Also, what city are you in? I'm SA3, NYC, MBA and make $140K. We're in Cohorts, so not private info.
