Take the money. The goal is to use every $ paid to you to acquire your freedom. The more you make the faster you can make it happen.
Agree with everything that’s been said. Came from a different Big 4 and have really enjoyed my experience. First 6 months was a bit of a steep learning curve, but overall overwhelmingly glad I did it.
How long ago did you make the transition? Do you mind sharing some of the biggest differences you noticed between B4 and K?
Made a similar move to K in the past, but as a newly promoted Manager coming into K as an Associate with a 30% pay bump.
You will have to unlearn how you did things at D and learn to do things the K way to be successful. Principal1 and Kearney1s comments about life here are right on. You have to be ready for 60+ hours a week of high intensity work with much higher rigor and content standards than you are used to and potentially a lot of travel.
Having said all that it’s been a great experience, I really like most of the people, have learned a ton, and the trajectory and $$$ has been great.
MDI, US Definitely a good place to be
(Not my practice)

MDI hours can be better than other practices - partners who overworked consultants no longer around.
Have not seen many Deloitte folks transition successfully. Kearney tends to be relentlessly rigorous in logic and not terribly concerned about politics, appearances, and BS. Probably to a fault - not enough client politicking with rigor beyond client expectations.
This is knowledge through my former colleagues who mostly left Kearney. Hours are incredibly long. I heard stories of 8-2am multiple days in a row.
I think that other comment sums it up well. Prepare for long hours
It's fairly region dependent as well. Hours are better in NA (50-70h) and not as good in MEA and APAC because margins are the fattest in NA.
It’s not bad. We hired people during Covid boom who couldn’t cut it, and then more people got let go when the market soft. Cut way fewer than MBB
Big 4 people haven’t had as much luck transitioning in. Not a ton of Deloitte tho. What group are you in?
Generally we work much longer hours and higher intensity
I will more than likely be focused in on public sector, as that’s where my career has been focused. In my experience, public sector is less demanding from an hours perspective. K2, is that your understanding of how Kearney MDI tends to trend as well?
