Considering a role at EY. Worked there before they had unlimited PTO. What is the culture around using that benefit? I understand it likely varies depending on org, role, and project. But open to some personal anecdotes around this outside people I know and liar recruiters.

You basically get at least 21 days off during the year. And much more flexible to take off every other Friday/Monday. More upfront planning and approvals are needed for 1-2 weeks off but it’s not as bad as people make it out to be. It’s only bad if you wanted to accrue for the max cap and get it paid out when you leave

Do you feel like you can still plan a week vacation like 6 months out and be fine to take off then even If you’re on a diff project by then?

Personal thought - I have not yet denied a request for time off from any of my team members. So far, the requests that have come to me are for a week or two, and in times where the requestor's project had a lull or they just completed a key phase. No one has asked me to approve anything unreasonable.

Unlimited PTO is a myth if you are in client facing role! 😆

don’t quite know yet but i started in september and my engagement ends mid december so i’m taking the whole week leading up to christmas off and haven’t seen any issues with it🤷‍♂️

Update :
After several follow ups Hr have agreed they will give the relocation bonus and reimbursement

I am a 3rd year senior associate in alternative investment tax and up for manager promotion this year. I really dislike the long hours of this job and seeking to make a move. Although I’m not sure i necessarily want to stay in tax. I have a young toddler at home and want to find a job i like, makes decent money, and has decent hours so i can spend more time with family.

Has anyone been in a similar position and made a move? Can you please share your experience? Thanks!

Hello everyone ,
I’m currently working in insurance customer service at an agency. I work in the mortgage department assisting w mortgage changes , payments etc. I’ve been thinking about becoming a claims adjuster most likely for property damage . Is it worth it ??? I hear a lot of talk about how claims adjusting is a lot of work and very demanding but I think my current position has prepared me for the challenge. What are some good companies I maybe should apply for after getting my license?

I'm not in sales per se but I manage my company's largest wholesale account ($150 million per/yr account). It's a great company, awesome culture, good benefits, flexibility, but the pay is not great ($60K/yr). All the pros outweighed the mediocre pay, but now with inflation rising, my paycheck isn't going as far and I'm having a really hard time trying to figure out if I should start looking elsewhere or if I should ask my boss for a raise.

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
