I have an initial recruiter phone interview with Square Thursday. Is it it just a phone call or is it a video call and they didn’t specify. If it’s a video call what’s the dress code like? I’m coming from consulting so all my interviews were in suits. Any tips to get past the recruiter phone screen?
Can anyone at Amex share my resume in their team to directly start the rounds of interview? I have tried for referrals through linkedIn and did not recieve any call from the HR.

It’s definitely used maliciously. And the discriminatory auto-rejection email often says “not the right fit for the team.”
I stand corrected.
Its not always about age. I had one job pull my information from my old university just to confirm I had an actual bachelors degree. You would be surprised how many people lie on their applications.
This question is on a *lot* of applications. I’m not saying it’s never been used in a malicious way, but I think this is a pretty standard question that typically isn’t used to discriminate against candidates based on age. But hey! that’s just me with my rose colored glasses on! 😎 good luck!
this is the attitude that perpetuates it too. enjoy your 40s and 50s!
Screw it put 4 fake years.
Just curious, what if you lied?
Say you went to college at age 9 like Doogie Howser.
You’re only ‘Over the hill’ if you think you are. No one can put you in a box except you. If you think it, you are, so do yourself a favor, positive thoughts only. If you’re familiar with the law of attraction, you attract what you send out. Hey. I’m starting over. I worked with my wife for the last 25 years, now going through a divorce and this is the best thing that could have happened. I’m sharper than I was 10 years ago, and retirement is not an option. Request in person interviews. Get out and talk with people, show people who you are, and that experience is your trump card. Either that, retire, or start your own thing. Do not fold because someone thinks you should — I hope you’re better than that.

They can’t do a background check without your explicit approval…and the year you graduate is not usually the info that gets passed along because it could be discriminatory. It is simply verified. So asking here is for obvious reasons.
