Costco is hands down the better bulk supplier
They are the same
Costco has higher end stuff. BJs is nice and actually closer to our house, but I’ve found Costco has more gluten free and we just like it better. Before I tried Costco, I loved BJs - having both just didn’t make sense for us since we also have a Sam’s membership…
Forget BJs. Costco is the larger distributor of meat products out there. Also, Costco have waygu. Enough said

Who doesn't like BJs? Nomsayin👌
Chief
Unbelievable. People talking about paying for BJs with their amex and then surprised when it doesn't accrue points?
Pro
Not to be dramatic but I'd put my life on the line for Costco 😆
Go with Sam’s Club if you have an option.. BJ’s is too small, while Costco has limited options and ‘higher end stuff’ in many cases surfaced as fake or misleading rip off brand.. Tiffany khm khm..

It’s not “glorified Walmart”. It’s just “extra large Walmart”.
It’s like, if you were offered a steak, and the options were one really well butchered prime rib eye, or 40 pounds of ground “beef”.
Some people are going to pick the rib eye. And some people are serial killers.

I went from sams to Costco. Ive never been a member of BJ’s though I’ve been in one of their stores a couple of times.
Costco just has nicer stuff. Their meat and fish offerings are fantastic. Great wine selection. And the Costco brand (Kirkland) is almost universally a good choice, whether you are buying wine, or skillets, or whatever.
I wouldn’t go back to Sams because their stuff felt lower quality, and as a side note, I appreciate how Costco generally takes care of their staff. That alone makes me want to shop there
Pro
Costco’s meat selection is genuinely incredible.
Lots of blogs out there that ask some of the best chefs in the country where they buy their food and Costco is always a top answer for steaks, burgers, brats, chicken, ground turkey, etc
Rising Star
BJ's also accepts manufacturer coupons and has their own in house ones. One time I saved almost $100 in coupons on a $500 order.
Also Amex gold won’t count BJ’s as grocery?
Yea. Doesn’t count as grocery. Either does target and Walmart. I use my flat 2% card at those stores unless there’s a 5% wholesale club category
Member at both - Costco is definitely better / higher end, but BJs is closer to me so I’m a member there as well. One advantage of BJs is it’s easier to buy smaller quantities of things like meats etc. than it is at Costco. Also I buy gas at BJs as you can put it on amex. But as mentioned above, both selection and quality is lower at BJs
