Have you seen the show House of Lies? It is exactly like that.
Stakeholder analysis, develop communication plans and communications, change impact assessments, org design, trainings, etc.
Understanding the company culture, the change that is happening (new system, process, organization structure) and who it impacts - then translating that into effective messaging that doesn't cause everyone to lose their minds/Lose talent that the company wants to keep/foster adoption of whatever is the new thing

I would agree it is PPT hell. I have never done so many slides in my life than on my current project, which is CM. I had to add the align buttons to my quick access toolbar.
