Also enrolled in CFP coursework and hope to have designation when I graduate . Highly confident in excel. I’ll be 22-23 then.

Perhaps not directly relevant, but I have a difficult family background. Never known my dad, my mom had serious drug/mental health issues. Grew up with grandparents and aunt & uncle. Somehow I miraculously did well in school and ended up in big law. For Christmas I plan on faking quarantine to explain why I’ll be alone, though I want to be more upfront with colleagues, friends and potential partners, but I’m afraid my story will appear off-putting to them. Attorney signing consultant agreement?

A prospective client sent me a generic consulting agreement to sign. I have not done that before but always use our own engagement letter. I find nothing objectionable in their consulting agreement but I worry that it may hurt the client if an argument can be made that a consultant is not necessarily an attorney and that they are waiving protections of attorney client privilege or attorney work product.

Just cleared conflicts & can give notice to my current firm. New firm wants me to start on 12/5. Planning to give notice tomorrow, 2 weeks from which will be 11/22. Will be out of office for weekend trip Fri. 11/18 through Mon. 11/21 (unlimited vacation/not using PTO). Which is better (or less worse): Give 2 weeks notice that includes 2 days I’m paid but won’t be working, or give < 2 weeks notice, such that my last day is 11/17 (10 days notice)? I’m busy & will be until my last day regardless.

How bad do I look if I go back on an offer I signed almost 5 months ago? In my defense, I wasn’t actively looking for a job after I signed, but I did interview after a recruiter reached out.
