Currently an analyst at D (S&O). If I take up a Corp strategy role at a Fortune 500 retail company. Is it going to be a step down for me career wise?

(Would go in to the company at a level higher)

Yes, your progression will generally be slower

I agree with the above, but I will also add that it depends
Some corporate strategy teams have an up or out methodology like firms. Capital one for example.

Depends on how the company is growing and the caliber of people you'll be working with

like

Just because the speed of development is lower, I wouldn’t think of it as a “step down”. Especially if you are getting a good title bump. Depends how long you are planning to stay there (and how long you would have stayed at D.)

True, not a step down but a lot more horizontal room on each step

It’s a marathon not a sprint

2. Realistic market opportunity/opportunity to crush quota (obv dependent on many things)

Background: Currently making 95k/160k OTE at a boutique research and consulting firm. I’m happy but we’re extremely flat with little to no opp for promotion in the next 2+ years.

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. Hello, I recently was reached out to by an in-house recruiter at a similar but slightly different company than the one I currently work for. The recruiter provided a base range and an OTE range. The lower end of that range is what I am currently making. The higher end of that range is almost 200k more than my current comp. The role is almost identical. I wasn’t looking to move, but that higher end range would set my family up very nicely for our goals. But I am happy at my current company. Help?
