Currently waiting on the official copy of an offer letter for Merck . I had a verbal offer via phone form recruiter where we talked about comp and start date. Checked with recruiter last week and he said he is waiting on approval from hiring manager. It's been a week since that update, but still not offer letter. Any idea what I should do?

I accepted a $115K base salary, 13% bonus, 10k sign on bonus (scientist supervisor) job and two weeks later, got a $135K base, 17% bonus, and 15K sign on bonus (Senior scientist role) offer from another company. Should I accept the new offer ? How do I tell the previous company about this? Also, I’ve already negotiated with the first company and the $115K base is the negotiated salary.
