Who your higher ups are. The people you report to largely determine your immediate future. Would compare chase and BoA to see who can set you up for success the best.

Great advice. Thanks. So part of the reason of thinking about the move. I originally applied for the advisor program at Chase but was denied bc I’m already licensed and they wanted licensed individuals. But BofA is willing to take me licensed. So that’s a huge upside in my book

I used to manage FSAs at Merrill Edge years ago when the program first rolled out. Just like with Chase, your success mainly depends on the banking center you would be sitting in. It’s all about the foot traffic in your branch since you work off of referrals from the bank. If you are interested, first find out what branch you would be in and see what the traffic is like in the closest chase branch to compare. I’ve seen plenty thrive and then failed when they moved branches. It’s a pretty low key job with only having to work a couple Saturdays a month. The only real way to get promoted up from the role is to take over your managers role. It’s hard to move from FSA to another role inside of BAML.

Thanks. Great feedback.

26M making $155k base and about $185k TC at a large payments firm (Visa, MC, AmEx). I’m also 1 year away from promo which will probably get me to $210-220k TC. Do you think I still need an MBA? A lot of senior leaders in my team have 1 so I’m really not sure at this point. The opportunity costs are high, but I’m well aware of the long term benefits. I’ve also already taken the GMAT and gotten a 740. I’m an Asian male and find the hurdles that we go through for admissions a turn off as well.

Interviewed for a Production Support Engineer role two days ago - went OK, was able to answer some questions and others that I couldn’t. The role was not posted yet on their site or LinkedIn at the time of me interviewing. Feedback from Manager was that I presented myself well and they would have to discuss as a team if they had the time to get me up to speed as there was a learning curve. Noticed yesterday morning the the role had been newly posted on LinkedIn (day after interview).
