Bain & Company Can someone recommend a good starting point on how to go around solving case interviews? What frameworks should I follow? I am kinda new to case interview and want to develop skills to solve them. Any books, online sources would be really appreciable. No big 4 doesn't catch you up lmao. Maybe at MBB @bain but def not here. I know managers making 105k at EY and KPMG because they were underpaid associates and senior associates. Sadly, you need to jump ship for your market value to be relevant.
They love to keep you underpaid that's their business. Higher margins.
Happened to me and glad it did. D1 said it best. And who cares if you eventually catch up, you’ll have made more money along the way. FV of those extra bucks baby.
So tell them no and walk
It would put you on a slower track - even though initially you get paid “M salary” they’ll just increase you slower each year until you’re back in line with other people at the same level
Happened to me. Was adamant about being a M but got an offer for SC at M salary. So glad I accepted as it is a lot less pressure and easier to get on projects as a SC.
Who gives a F about title? I make M money as a senior. When I promote I'll probably be in a higher band than other Ms. Just play your cards baby
Ya happened to me too, but as the other said, I am loving life as an SC
Tell them to pound sand
They also won’t disclose comp until I tell them yes to being okay with Senior. Very weird position to be in as a candidate.
Similar experience but between C and SC
B&C1 is correct
Deloitte is playing games.. they wanna get M level candidates at SC to improve their engagement margins..
I'm at 150 no mba and 8 years of experience
They do that to everyone.
😂😂😂😂😂. Typical. That is how they do so beware.
Yes they usually bring most people below a level to get used to the way D operates but SC is third level at d and they lead workstreams. Pay band for commercial is around 110-150, sometimes higher with more experience.
Happened to me and said no. Got a job in industry in Corp strategy instead
^^ it’s actually other way round.. Uncle D wants M level expertise as SC, to be able to bill as SC and beat the competition over rates & fix price bids (specially in Tech Consulting). Fair play.. but a deserving M joining as SC will end up burning his/her ass off to get promoted
Again. I have interviewed ppl for M level before. Loved the candidate, good skills, not quite ready for Deloitte Manager level. So we offer the SC level. Not just a bait and switch and "holding your ground” may not be accepted and your SC offer could be rescinded.
I recommend taking the role towards the higher end of the level and have less stress for a year and overperform.
You interviewed for the manager level, they liked you, but someone wasn’t confident you would be successful at that level right away.
