It's always been a dream of mine to work at Google, specifically as a UX designer (currently transitioning into UX from visual design). I've been so afraid to apply to any jobs with UX title, Google or not, because I'm always doubting myself and telling myself I'm still under-qualified.
UX designers & hiring managers, what are the skills a designer must have to be "qualified" for a UX position? Keywords on resume? Certifications? Thank you all in advance!

The Deloitte Seattle office is a pretty solid office with some great clients (I am not there but close by). You already have big four on your resume though, so I don’t think it’s necessarily a no brainer to say absolutely Deloitte. Ask what their plan to deploy you is and see if you like the schedule. I would want a really large public client and maybe 1 or 2 small private ones, but maybe you hate controls and want all private. If that’s what you want but they are going to put you on Microsoft or something, then ask for
something different or go with GT.
I have to laugh though—I met a GT partner from Seattle recently and he was really insufferable. He introduced himself as “senior partner”. That’s not actually a title guy. You are just old. One in every firm!
Rising Star
For the extra 25K they’ll present you with a great learning opportunity and you’ll get to be the staff, senior, and manager on the team
Better than what I got. At GT I was the Indus team, staff, senior, and director on the engagement. And I didn’t get that 25k. Now I’m bouncing to Big 4. :)
Switching as S3, I've seen multiple people get passed for manager promo.
Also curious for a manager salary in Seattle
Following.
But what roles will you be doing at DT vs. GT? If the same role, which team did you seem to "vibe with" more?
There’s probably isn’t any team left at GT
Are you leaving for any particular reason?
I’d be very careful about switching Big 4 to do the same thing. They’ll give you a raise now, but your future raises will be capped since you’ll be above the average band. If you leave EY audit, I’d go to industry or some type of finance role instead. The only way I would recommend it is if auditing is your passion, and you hate everyone you work with at EY and are repeatedly put on the worst projects. Ya know? Otherwise it’s the same work and same hours, but you’ll be back at square 1 reputation-wise and won’t have a network.
Personally I am very hesitant of the “borderline” mid tiers. GT, BDO, Mcgladrey, all want big4 market share to an extent. So you may end up with comparable hours to big4 without the prestige. If your ultimate goal is to go private, I would say go big4 as it’s best to leave directly from a big4 when going private. If you want to be a partner and don’t want to dedicate your whole life to the career, try a midsize.
A plus is since you are coming from big4 I think it’s fair to ask what the work life balance is like at GT as that may be part of the reason you are not staying in big4. Ask a recruiter tho as I definitely got burned for asking that question once
Deloitte I would think, it will open you up for opportunities later down the track.
Could I ask what you initially asked for your comp?
