Did I act irrationally here? I had an initial consultation with a therapist the other day to get a referral to a psychiatrist for BD + ADHD. I've called them to get the appointment set up but no response. So today, I found a new provider and was able to get an appointment booked directly with a psychiatrist next Wednesday.... Do I just tell the other provider I'm no longer interested?

Hey there! I am a PMM at an Israeli startup, based 100% remote in the U.S. The entire 20+ marketing team is based in Israel (9 hrs ahead)& so is the product team. I show multiple symptoms but am wondering about one specifically.until my promotion to manager I was considered high performer. now am stuck and can’t figure out how to progress. I am very good in executing and repeating what I know but have major issues in shaping an approach or identifying new opportunities. And if I don’t know how to continue I am just staring at my screen or finding distractions. Can this be related to ADHD or is it maybe just time for a career change?

Long one - one of my best friends (10+ years) and I had a drink last week, I told her of my recent ADHD diagnosis and how we had noticed the generational trend (my mum & grandad as very similar symptoms wise and they acknowledge this, but not diagnosed). The friend mentioned her therapist has suggested she may had ADHD (inattentive type) - she then told me a few things like how she's absolutely neurotypical and she's never associated herself with neurodiversity etc, she made a ... How to keep up with colleagues that work so many hours? Hyperfocus lets me get a lot done in a short time, but it usually ends like the story of the turtle beating the hare.

All I want is to aggressively pay off debt, earn a bit higher paycheck, be more balanced and consistent and reliable, improve my health and take better care of myself, and not almost exclusively dread my job. And some time to socialize. These all seems fairly simple… but i am still struggling to accomplish this. It’s downright nerve wracking and frustrating.

How did you find medication that worked for you? Please share your experiences or lessons learned. My pcp recommended a neurologist and I am not sure it is working.
