Do any Deloitte partners have metrics on the number of layoffs this past month across the board? Is it just overblown on fishbowl?

If you do something on the side for extra cash (like drive for Uber) then lose your agency job in a layoff, does your little side gig disqualify you from collecting unemployment?

They said this will be it for a RIF. (I hope so but don’t trust them.) 20 opted in, 35 moved to another position in the Firm and 15 were being let go. That makes 70 total when they told us only 60 people would be impacted.

I’ve been on the bench since early Feb and have been working on firm initiatives full time since (proposals, white papers, and practice work). Last month I went on leave for surgery and before I left I asked if I should be concerned about not being on a project and I was told no. I received a bench warning and was told I had two weeks to find a project (two weeks ago) or I would be ejected from the firm. They told me I would receive two weeks of severance. Should I asked for more? How?

So I was fired yesterday. I’m choosing to see this as an opportunity to make some changes, instead of just jumping into another law firm job I’m not cut out for. Does anyone have recommendations for career coaches, ADHD coaches, or ideally someone who does both?

I received an offer from PWC India with CTC 9.5L my current is 5.5L. I have another offer in pipeline from concentrix with 11L. Will PWC match my counter offer? They were very keen on getting me on-board ASAP before signing but since I signed the contract it has been silent from the new employee. PwC partners - One of my biggest takeaways is that Directors aren’t taken care of appropriately in the firm. That includes lack of focus on their mental health, their work-life balance, unreasonable metrics, comp and bonus increases, how cohort progression is managed and transparency about the PCLDE process. This is based on my 4+ yrs as a D and talking to several folks at or outside CLEX. Several of us leave due to this - just sharing this feedback to consider.

Partners: anyone approaching retirement or close to it? Based on your pension/retirement scheme, how much gross $$ do you expect to get in Year 1 of your retirement from your pension plan?

Do clients ask for fixed price or T&M contracts or do you as PPD negotiate them into one or the other ?
