Hello Staff 3 !
You're not getting staff 3 unless someone really dislikes you
Simply by how the back office system works. Staff 1 = S1 ; Staff 2 = S2; Senior 1=S3 ... S6 is the highest senior I've seen. And so on
I know right..... fearing for my life
Staff 3 is definitely a thing
Staff 3 means you should leave!Unless there is a reason to stay at the firm, looking for other opportunities is better. Gotta shape your own career!
About to become a Senior 4 and ready to quit #hatemylife!
We have a senior 5 on our team
It is not possible. Everyone gets pushed to senior 1.
Pretty crazy that they just push you up whether or not you're ready. Associate 3 is very common, in fact probably the norm in my practice.
I know an individual that's been a staff for 3 years in the advisory practice. They just didn't think he was ready for a senior role
When I was at EY people tell me that if you don't go from Staff 2 to Senior 1...you better watch out coz you are very likely to get laid off. There are plenty of campus hire coming in who prob can do the job to certain degree. Just hope EY didn't over hire this year!
Folks learn at different speeds - this demonstrates how little particular firms care about their people. I get up or out to an extent but for the first year it's really just a crap shoot whether or not you get staffed on something decent.
I heard that the year I came in, 2014, the staff 3 role was no longer... instead they keep you as a staff 2 for another year. I know people who did 2 years as staff 2s and then went to senior 1
Okay on a serious note and this is EY official line and corroborated by ACP leadership. the rap bap and tap programs are a 2-3 year staff pool program. Earlier it used to be 2 years staff to senior. If not then you are not performing well. They changed the model to be more accommodating and also to ensure that folks (usually from undergrad ) have more client facing experience before being promoted
Definitely possible. Depends on whether leadership thinks you're "ready" for the senior role
You could get paid as much as a staff III though... In fact that's pretty likely!
I see no reason why anyone wouldn't be ready for SC1 after 2 years as Staff.
Ya it's not as common I think as it's not precedent and so many leave before/if it happens
I've heard about staff 3s in ACP
