Do you adjust your lessons for the holiday season or incorporate the seasons into your lessons? I guess this is mostly for elementary and middle school teachers, but any input is appreciated. Starting at a new school and I want to be festive in some way other than decorating my door.

I’m in a little of a pickle but a good one. Offer A. Established “start up” doing well financially and projected to hit profitability. 130k base. Stocks offered, unlimited PTO, and 70% Medical covered. Offer B. Is at a business much larger…90k salary with 10% bonus and generous stock offering. Titles are different which is why the pay is much different. I know some may think it is a no brainer but offer A allows me to grow the department ground up whereas offer B id be apart of to just different

Looking at full-time and application asks for expected salary and then expected total compensation as a number. How should I figure out the second? Health insurance, bonuses, life insurance, equity, PTO? I studied art, not math.

I have been at my current firm for about 1.5 years, and in that entire time the partner in my group hasn't been out of the office a single time. Is that normal? Transactional associate. Lateraled 6 months ago and one of the biggest pain points has been my new firm’s inclination to “hop on a call”, which of course requires every single stakeholder to join. The end result being every call has 25 people on it and nothing actually gets done because no one wants to ask a question that could come off as silly. It’s destroying my ability to get anything done during the day. It’s a complete performance and it drives me nuts.

I'm a fresh grad and I thought this would be my dream job... I became the 3rd team member in this location and the regional team leader helped me understand and learned a lot... Can I negotiate for a longer pre-approval period? I live in a hot market so likely will take longer than 60-90 days to secure something. Or does the pre-approval auto extend without a bunch more paper work?

I’m preparing to teach division with decimals. Our math program doesn’t have manipulatives for the concrete representation. Suggestions how to have students understand dividing with/without decimals?

I finally was able to convince my principal that we need a consistent math intervention at the MS level (grades 5-8). (Right now, we are just "doing our own thing," which isn't helping students progress much.) Does anyone have any suggestions? It would be beneficial to have some sort of progress monitoring tool as part of the program, if possible. Our classes run roughly 55 minutes (which is too long for an intervention, in my humble opinion).

Does anyone know a great 7th grade math workbook? Our school system does not buy the students books. I’ve taught 6th grade math for 20 years and have made all my notes, worksheets and and examples, but I’ve been assigned a seventh grade math class and don’t have enough time to get all of that ready. I feel like I’ve spent so much money on Amazon and TPT but it never ends up being what I want. It’s usually too easy. I would be grateful for any ideas, suggestions or actual workbooks names. What’s your opinion on math homework? I teach 4th grade and have always given it but I’d like to see what others do and weigh out if it’s really worth it. If I give it, I feel like I should spend class time going over it but on the other hand I stress myself out trying to keep the absent work organized and those that don’t even do the work.

What would u do in this "hypothetical" scenario.
1. Student gets 95 percentile on standardized tests in 1st grade.
2. 2nd gr teacher, capable and flexible but a little old school.
3. Parent, from foreign country, wants us to teach 2 years ahead of where student is at in math and reading in case they have to return to other country.
4. District's old standard for acceleration is at the 97th+ percentile and other students are much more"advanced".
