Hi, I have an offer for the position of Senior Associate at pwc AC Bangalore. Can you please tell if there is a permanent wfh and will they give it in writing. And how is the WLB at PWC AC Bangalore. Is it true that I will have to frequently work late at night. Is the shift timings 9 to 6 as the hr told me or it usually extends? Pwc AC PwC

Does anyone have any insight into accounting roles at Amazon, particularly in the Arlington/DC area? An Amazon recruiter reached out about accounting roles, but the posts in this bowl are about Seattle. Trying to decide if the culture/wlb/pay is even worth looking into since it sounds like the interview process is intense. Base pay seemed pretty low in other posts, but they were a year old and for Seattle.

FDD definitely requires accounting knowledge, but the engagement duties are more inline with consulting. For example, someone without an accounting background would be absolutely lost trying to do a QoE report.
Yes we are doing accounting lol
No, it’s more consulting
Coach
I'd say more accounting than consulting, it's quite formulaic
Yes at at least that’s how outsiders would view us
Definitely accounting. People who say it’s consulting have clearly not done consulting work before.
FYI I feel like a lot of FDD people get caught up with not being seen as “consultants” but consulting isn’t exactly glamorous either. Heck at a lot of shops FDD gets more respect, works less, and is paid more than consulting anyway
It's accounting. Many in deals refer to FDD as the "auditors"..
Yes. In FDD you are still making sure that the financial information accurately depicts a company’s performance vs making allocation decisions using those numbers as inputs.
Coach
you’re doing accounting advisory. you’re not exactly accountants to the outside world, but on the inside, what you are doing closely aligns with accounting with a financial interest.
you do FDD. no need to bucket it into sth else
It's accounting.
It’s accounting with a lot of financial analysis
Yes, it is accounting. While it’s advisory/ consulting work, your area of expertise & role in a deal is as an accountant
Got it. Thanks for the thoughts all. I actually just picked a Sr Acct role at a Tech company over a Sr role in FDD in B4.
So was curious the perception
Is that a good firm? I’ve never heard of it
Accounting but on the advisory side
Yeah, I mean. I chose not to go into FDD because it seems like a wanna be Finance job.
OP you can’t be serious with these comments dude 🤣
It’s prepping QoE reports, no?
That’s the core analysis but there is a lot of supplemental analysis - looking at the model to see if it’s misaligned with historicals, transactional level sales analysis, industry specific analysis (pipeline analysis, customer analysis), headcount analysis, store level analysis, etc
Sorry what’s FDD
Financial due diligence
Yeah
