In the beginning, cameras on all the time. After a couple weeks, camera OFF. Now I try to show my face once a week as proof of life and just look presentable. When it's an important meeting/presentation, I dress up from the waist up. Maybe even makeup.

Lol at proof of life
Depends on the call.
Internal with client team: not dressing up/no makeup
Internal call with leadership: a little more effort with some makeup
External call with client: more effort with makeup
Life is short. Look good as much as possible. The answer is yes to both.
Depends on the call but looking presentable is always top of mind for me.
As a professional freelancer, from my perspective, looking as professional and as presentable as possible is apart of my services that I provide to the agency. When I present work, being seen in a professional way helps to sell the work. It helps to assure the client that I pay attention to detail, always on point, and that their projects are in good hands.
You don’t have to dress up really fancy. Just look professional and look like you know what you are doing. As IPOC in this industry, we have to look as professional as possible to compete with our privileged counterparts.
I usually do. For the times that I don’t, my camera is off.
I don’t dress up. Most of the time I’m in a t-shirt whether it’s a client meeting or internal. I don’t wear makeup ever and have locs so my day-to-day hair game is low maintenance.
I’ll let my work speak for itself. If they judge me on looks, I for damn sure don’t want to work with them.
