How are you developing client relationships when in-person networking is out?

I'm used to hanging out with my clients frequently, grabbing coffee, stopping by the office, etc. Zoom/Hangouts meetings just feel really awkward and it's difficult switching from business development which was 90% IRL to nearly all online... Especially when I run a 1-person shop.

How about y'all?

I have been working for a new client for about six months now and they seem to like my work so far. Recently I saw that they're hiring to get people on their team at my level. Question: I have a client who started a restaurant. He leased the land and bought shipping containers where he spent money contracting out to turn them into bars. I’m having a tough time determining how to depreciate this! First thought was leasehold but he’s not making improvements to a structure...he owns the structure! But nonresidential real estate at 27.5 years doesn’t make sense either as it’s not a brick and mortar building. Curious on others thoughts! TIA

I've been editing for a long time, but I'm brand new to agency life. I was hired as a FT in-house editor, but 9mo later, I'm absolutely drained (I come from publishing, which was not nearly as brutal)... and while I love the work and the people, I just canNOT anymore with the hours.
