Unless you've got tons of money and time and no family to be mindful of, I hate to say this to you, but learn to fall in love with it.
Are you already done residency / fellowship? If not, try to switch. Plenty will be willing to take your spot in Ortho.
Although sunk cost is high, it’s not unheard of to go back for residency for another speciality. I had some general surgeons join my family medicine residency when they realized surgery wasn’t for them. Otherwise, you can develop/find something you like within your speciality. Or just build something outside of work that you enjoy enough to offset work. Good luck
If you're feeling like this, I would suggest taking the time off to explore what you like to do when you don't have to do anything
I’ve felt the same thing, probably most days of my career so far (10 years in). I’ve considered switching many times, but have never been sure that this would solve it. And the cost to switch feels enormous (300k+ lost per year x 3 more years or so). If you can focus on the good you are doing for others, and keep track of things that make it interesting to you (new cases, efficiency, income, whatever) that can help too.
