C1- you're right. I was once working in the Ronald Reagan building when a pipe burst and there was literally shit in our office. Pretty memorable.

E1- you win!! At lease you are in NYC though!

Transit is good but other than that...pigeon cage like work space, very much alike library prior finals, hard to find a decent place. And the tourists, omg the tourists....can't they walk a little faster and not parallel and don't smoke while walking, and worst of all for this age, worrying all times about terrorism and bombing stuff.

The DD studio is pretty good compared to the rest of the Deloitte offices there, but not to other studios

I accidentally discovered the DD studio in the Rosslyn office and almost pooped myself, Ronald Reagan Building style! You guys have an awesome place!

I'm actually out of McLean, which has no studio but live right next to the Rosslyn so will go there. Federal people are free to use McLean which has plenty of space

River Place over here 👍🏻

I literally know on one else who lives here and have been in Rosslyn for 5 years. I spend all my time in DC. Can't justify moving now since I am on travel projects all the time

Haha so similar! Obags2016@gmail.com if you ever want to connect with another Rosileiro

LA offices though 😍

Hi all, need some advice here, like a lot of others here, Google is definitely a dream company for me to work at. I come from a non-technical background, currently working as a project manager + associate product manager (20% project situation) at a SaaS company. Also, what are some of the key skills that are utilized extensively in these roles, which google considers a great asset?

The new company I’m at now sent me an email from an email address that was HR@companyName.careers saying I was accepted for the position. They gave me paperwork to fill out and sign to accept the position

I fill out the paperwork and send it back to them and it goes through… then a few days later I go back to the email to say something else and I get this…?
Then today I got a check from the company In the mail to setup my home office, and it’s signed by someone I’ve never met before or heard of…?

Ideas please:

I’m inheriting a “team” of siloed strong individual developers who are on different work streams and are very jaded and struggling with motivation. Most are contractors. They have legit gripes about the client, but I won’t be able to solve those without getting cross-discussions going with knowledge-sharing across our “team“. Any suggestions for remote team-building that won’t just be shrugged off with cynicism, or worse, ignored?

Is it common at McKinsey for partners to be heavily involved in projects? I work in industry and I’m on a project now where a Senior Partner and Partner are on most our calls and seem very involved in delivery. I am a contract employee that was just brought on a month ago. I have done well with onboarding and learning their tech. I have now been asked to design an architecture for an upcoming project, and document it all. Nothing at this company has been well documented before. I have a feeling they just planning to use my previous experience and then let me go since my pay is high. Is there a way I can safeguard against this?

So I say this with complete humility and an understanding that this is a fortunate-ish situation to be in. I’m in a position where I am tied to nothing, I have no children, spouse, or house. My job, which I’ve loved until some recent significant leadership changes, is sucking the life out of me and I think it may be time for a change. Because I am able to “pick up and go” I’m open to opportunities and locations. I’ve never worked with a recruiter but was hoping I could get some recommendations!
