McKinsey & Company McKinsey & Company I have my first rounds (2 cases) for a position at the risk practice. Will I be interviewed by consultants in the risk practice? I wonder if I can ask some risk practice specific questions at the end of the interviews. (Didn’t get the names of the interviewers yet so I cannot google)

Yeah recruiters are scamming up the ass lately too
I apply directly.
I don’t judge people for their job because any honest work is respectable, but I hate HR and Recruiters.
Rising Star
I’ve never actually gotten a job through a recruiter because for the most part they’re peddling garbage positions. Always have gotten my roles through direct applications.
Second this👆
Two of my last three jobs were applied to directly. The other was through a connection. None use recruiters.
Always apply directly
I did, but wasn’t seeing a ton of traction, so I used multiple recruiters. Some are great and some are not, just have to narrow it down to the good ones.
I’m lucky that I have had positive experiences with recruiters. What I like is that the ones I’ve worked for in the past helped me by pass HR completely. No filling out applications, no HR phone screenings where the person on the phone asked “what’s a CPA? This is an accounting position not a nursing position” (yes really).
They’ve also helped with salary negotiations and let me know the salary range BEFORE I applied.
That said, yes there are absolute dumpster fire recruiters out there and finding a “good one” is almost as much work as job hunting.
I've had a lot of bad experiences with recruiters.
They're more interested in their commission than fitting you in with the right company.
I got placed in companies where everyone was over the age of 40 and some didn't even know how to use excel.
Still kept paper trail documentation methods.
F recruiters
I am over using recruiters. I feel the interviews are harder & companies more picky since they got to pay a hefty placement fee
Never got a job though a recruiter. Happy to hear it is not me!
Same here. I am currently looking for accountant roles, haven't landed anything as yet. I have my bachelor in accounting(major). A few recruiters contact me but they ghost out on me...lol
