Same as C1 - I always do. Probably only get a response maybe 25% of the time, but the way I think about it is that sending an email can only help you (so long as the grammar is correct). Say it's between you and another candidate after a final round and you sent a personalized TY and they didn't - it could be the differentiator.
I had one instance where I sent one and then the HM accidentally responded to me instead of the co-interviewer with something along the lines of "did you get a personalized email too?... impressive".
When I am a hiring manager, I view a follow up email as another signal of interest. It’s not going to make up for a bad interview, but if I’m unclear if the candidate is interested in the role, it can only help.
For the amount of effort it takes (a couple minutes?) why not do it..
If it was worth taking the time for an interview, it’s worth taking the time to send a quick thank you.
You always should. It makes a difference. You should be quick about it though, before they complete their review of you.
Better safe than sorry. Not much effort but not doing it is definitely poor effort
Always send thank you notes.
I send it. It’s basic courtesy. Genuine, quick note thanking them for their effort and insights. That’s all. Why is this even a question
Yes. It can't hurt and I guarantee it will set you apart from the crowd. It's an opportunity to acknowledge the time and energy that were put into interviewing you, and also shows that you know how to cultivate good relationships.
Hand written notes make you stand out
I’ve never heard of someone who got rejected because they didn’t send a TY note.. so pass. I’m also being generous with my time taking the interview. They’re getting paid to interview so me. Sooo
I always have. I try to keep it less phoney though. Just simple and honest and thanks for the opportunity blah blah.
I've done both. A recruiter can forward it along, or I try to guess on the email but that can be risky too.
I send notes to everyone that interviewed me
I do not. They don’t send thank you notes to candidates
Thank you emails are noticed and show you are thoughtful, professional, and respectful
I don’t anymore. Doesn’t make a difference imo.
Not anymore but I do add them on LinkedIn (in case they change jobs)
Pro
Not anymore.
Nope
It is good form to send a thank you note. It won't overcome a poor interview, yet will reinforce a positive interview.
What about the phone screen call? Send TY note? Yes/No?
