Do you work through your lunch break?

I used to but now consistently take 30min- 1hr with my laptop fully closed and step away for lunch, and it’s helped my focus for my second half of the day I think

I try to never work through any break, or any vacation. It's insane to expect people to not take breaks. We are human and we have to take care of ourselves as humans rather than just working non-stop all the time

Not taking regular breaks during lunch will just make you less productive. At my job, it's not possible to work through lunch to finish early unless you work under 6 hours. That's the cap, plus the law requires you to have a break.

yes I do, So I don't feel bad about going home early

As a rule I never work through my lunch break. I take using it as a break seriously, and I use that time to check my phone, play Wordle, and, of course, eat. On very rare occasions, if something is really urgent, I will eat while working, but that's very much the exception to the rule.

My family mistreated me when I was younger, and now that I don’t live at home, they don’t call or bother to look for me, because frankly, I think they have a hard time admitting what happened - and will never apologize to me either. If I don’t call, or occasionally go see them during the holidays, we would never talk. Some of them are growing old (health-wise), and I’m scared this entire situation is just irreparable. Has anyone ever gone through anything similar? Any advice or thoughts?

Beginning to consider going in house (4th, corp) - I really haven’t thought about what I want, partly because I’m not sure what’s out there/attainable. Is it a bad idea to start by applying to a couple positions that interest me and seeing where that gets me? I’ll of course prep for the interviews but am afraid to burn potential bridges if I ultimately decline because I’m still figuring things out.
