I stopped contributing to my 401K for the last three months in order to pay off credit card debt. I am 28 and have about 68K in my 401K. Was this a smart decision? I want to get out of debt as quickly as possible and I have no student loans or car debt.

I max out my 401k and I have a decent emergency fund. I want to keep saving. From what I’ve been reading my next steps are an IRA and then a brokerage account. Questions:
1. How do I pick between a Roth vs a traditional IRA?
2. Once I hit the max of $6k - only then do I focus on brokerage account?

Should I get an accountant/tax pro? I’m sick of paying for $200 for turbo tax and still having to do all the work. I interviewed for a role with the Enterprise Risk Team at EY. I told them my salary requirements were $105 k before the interview. They said it should be ok if I'm brought in as a Senior 1. After the interview, they said they want to bring me in as a Staff2 at $84k with $3k signing bonus. I'm trying to get on a call to negotiate further...do these numbers sound right to you all?
