Honeskty I tried in college and it was terrible choices or just not finding good matches. I found my husband 4 years after graduating. Randomly at a restaurant but I just want to say it’s HARD. The apps absolutely suck, the choices get limited as well. Once I started being open to non-black or african, I had more options. But it would have been my preference to date within my race but it was just soooo hard.
I "dated" in college but none of that ever amounted to anything. I was also dating wrong at the time — as in, trying to find a forever when I should have been dating to get to know my own preferences and to get to know new people. Most men in that age bracket are not at all ready or even interested in true commitment in any form, much less marrage. (not ALL, before the "I got married at 20" stories start rolling g in 😭). Had I understood that then (and in high school actually), I would have dated with that understanding.
If I could do it over again, I would date with the intention of just getting to know a person and learning what my likes and dislikes are in the dating/relationships space in general. I feel like I know a but better at 32 than I did in college so there's still time I suppose. 💕
Yep, wish I had at least started in college (probably would nt have gotten anywhere in hs or pregnant) family personally never pressured me, but I just tell myself I just didn’t know what I didn’t know and can’t dwell on the past, so just do the best I can now.
Yes, I would have preferred to meet my person during college. I regret not building a life together from my mid-twenties on.
How old are you now?
Do you feel like it would’ve been possible in your twenties
