Does anyone have any advice? I’m a first time manager I’ve only been doing it for a month now but I feel like I should just quit. My numbers have been great and my bosses love me but the crew seems to hate me. I have been doing my best to be super polite and honest with my crew but they don’t seem like they are willing to give me a chance to show I can do it. I’ve been working alongside them every day but it seems like I just can’t get them to play ball so to say

I agree with the first response. Having said that just be fair and firm with them and honest with yourself, keep in mind you’re in charge, make sure they have the right tools for the right job. Make sure you say, please and thank you and great job if it’s warranted, if not do correct them, but do it in a coaching style and if you do correct them, don’t do it in front of everyone and don’t do it in the office, sort of like at the end of the shift set them down and ask him if there’s anything you can do to help them do the correct procedures. by the way, when following procedures everything looks good in black-and-white and sometimes it can’t be done in real life, but you must at least attempt to do the right thing, good luck

Yeah I agree with everyone else. Stick it out for a bit longer and over time the staff will come to accept you. These things unfortunately take more time than you want.

At first, the team is always apprehensive of the manager. Please don't quit, you just need to be honest with them and humble enough to look for feedback. Tell them how you feel; people relate when you show you are vulnerable and human. Ask them what they need, how you can help, and genuinely do your best to help them, and slowly you see things change. I promise!

Hi sir , sorry to hear that but i'm looking for a job right now . Is there any available position in your restaurant .

Don't quit. They are jealous and unprofessional. It happened to me too about a decade ago. I worked with my coworkers for 2 yrs (at that location). Once I became a pt time (literally worked 39 1/2 hrs a week 😆 but I wasn't complaining) Assistant Operations Manager and was guided by my store manager to delegate tasks to them a specific few showed out and would LITERALLY refuse to do anything I asked. Most of them were afternoon shift and thankfully I only had a few hrs to put up with it. My manager supported me and guided me through it. When they were written up for insubordination/refusal to complete tasks the second time then it stopped. My night crew was always awesome (except 2 ppl a couple times a week). Good luck with your position. Hopefully your bosses will guide you and support you too and put a stop to it or replace them.

Does anyone know how much time Microsoft HR takes to provide feedback after Hiring drive ? I had contacted my 3rd party recruiter contact person but he said the final feedback will come from HR or Hiring Manager only.
Thanks in advance .

A long post: seeking some perspective. My husband of 2 years that I’ve been in a relationship with for more than 8 years just woke up one day and told me that he’s unhappy in our relationship. I’m devastated because he’s never expressed anything like this in the 8 years. He’s been super supportive and loving, even when we were in a long distance relationship. He supported my career and dreams and this just doesn’t make sense. We have gotten a counselor but things aren’t getting better. Comment>

I’m noticing that a lot of recent graduates at my job don’t know many basic computer skills (ie. Copy and paste short cuts or how to use the Microsoft Suite at all). I’ve been tasked with creating trainings to teach them these skills but it’s concerning to see how this new generation is starting to lack these assets. What happened? Is anyone else experiencing this at their organization?

So I work as an assistant manager at a restaurant for the past 9 months. I've worked in restaurants for the past 6 years science I was 16. Now I'm 22. I went to a trade school for media and film. I got a dream opportunity to work in the field making about the same or 10% more. I told myself the only reason I'd leave this company is for this type of job. Should I take the chance at this job and leave the restaurant that is on the rise and growing?

Check the overtime laws for your state!!

I just recently worked 58.6 hours in a week, weekly pay, nice OT profit right? Depends on where you live.

In Iowa, there is no Overtime pay mandate, the overtime pay is at the discretion of the business. I received 58.6 hours of base pay for the week.

If the company makes less than $1 million per year or does not engage in intercontinental sales, the company is not required to pay the overtime rate of time and a half, just your base rate.
