Experienced M&A tax hire and had only one day with two 15min Teams interviews with partners in the group. Really only very generally asked about the work I was doing at my then firm. No technical questions. Very casual and informal vibe. Received an offer the next day. Hope that helps!
Experience of any kind and proof of existence
Mostly a convo about your background/experience. Behavioral questions may or may not come up. I had 1 in 7 interviews.
Lol sorry I didn’t preface. 3 we’re with PwC 4 with Deloitte
mine was not behavioral at all! literally just asked about my experience at the first firm and then questions about career goals. it was a very casual conversation for all of my experienced hire interviews, they seemed to just want to make sure the culture fit is there and that the role is what you’re looking for!
i had several interviews the past 6 weeks. for ours, two 30 min interviews. one with a partner, one with a manager to director. Very easy. next day offer for all of the candidates i interviewed. I think as long as they were breathing i recommended an offer. Partners agreed on offers i recommended so they may be doing what i was doing. hahaha. ok. im half joking, half not lol. Its pretty easy. No technicals. for me, 1 or 2 questions on work experience. rest was chatting about inspirations outside of work. if they were engaging in convo theyre good. everyone runs their interview differently.
A pulse
It depends on the interviewer. I had one interview that is different from the other interviews I previously had. But one thing I am pretty sure about. There will always be behavioral questions that will be asked.
I had two interviews (director and partner) for a tax senior position and they were both pretty much a basic conversation with some minor mentioning of day to day technical topics to make sure I actually am even aware of what I would be doing. No case studies.
