What % of post-tax income do Londoners usually spend on rent?

Offered 6.2k per month post-tax and thinking of spending 2k on base rent, single household. Does that seem reasonable for someone who wants to save and invest?

I worked with a Junior AD that skipped college and went straight to portfolio school. I was mad resentful of him at first, mostly because I wish I would have thought of that and saved $100K.

Anyone have situational depression? Can’t stop beating myself up over a decision a year ago. Basically missed out on a massive amount of money. I know this seems trite and i never even cared thatt much about money before this year.

So many other good things happened to me this year - got married, got a puppy, moved etc, and yet the one thing i keep returning to is this decision as though i ruined my life. Ironically the only thing ruining my life is my outlook and yet i just can’t stop.

While structuring the HRA if we give max limit for eg., 20k and I have rent agreement of 7500. Will this be a problem or will I just get an exempt of 7500?

I may or may not try to lock in a good rate early, but I'm planning on renting it out and this throws a bit if a wrench in my margins. Hi all, I’m in the north east metro area and due to the current RE market we decided to look into PA specifically Lancaster. Anyone in this market and have any thoughts on where it’s headed? We’re looking purchasing a single family property all cash at 110k that rents for $1100 a month. The last owner bought for 35k like 15 years ago 😩 but hoping buying and holding for a few years will give a equal or greater returns over the long run.

It’s a myth that renting is “throwing money away.” Maintenance of a property is expensive! I’m selling my place and I’ve never felt more free. I can use that money (~$5000/month) to invest even more.
