Does anyone know if you can put your CPA bonus in 401K so it's not taxed at Crowe.

Does Crowe's 401k plan have the special bonus election provision? Check your plan's Summary Plan Description, probably available online. Or call the 401k provider. Whatever you do, don't trust your peeps on FB; based on the comments I read from all firms, no one here knows anything about 401k plans in general, much less their firm's specific plan provisions.

How do you want it to be put into Roth and not taxed?..

like

Max the 401k and also the personal deductible 5500 ira and then also ideally the HSA. Doesn't matter whether you use the bonus money specifically or not, you'll get the excess tax amount back as a refund when you file.

like

You can always add to your IRA by April 15, 2018 and it'll reduce your tax for 17

I've been doing the Roth IRA, I'm thinking about just putting all that in. Not sure maybe I should do traditional though

Well I'm deciding between 401k or just dump it all in Roth, I know it's taxed. Just not sure which I want to do yet

Are you doing Roth IRA or Roth 401k? If you make Roth contributions inside your 401k, you benefit by having a higher annual 401k contribution limit ($18,000 vs $5,500). You also benefit by enjoying lower cost institutional mutual fund shares vs higher cost retail shares in an IRA. If you're young, Roth is very compelling due to the potential growth of 30+ years of compounding that you would be able to withdraw tax free in retirement.

Is anyone concerned the push for sexual equality in pay without accordant leveling of parental leave is gonna backfire?

Here’s a hypothetical:

A company has 2 candidates, aged 25-30, equal in every respect save one’s a man the other’s a woman. Maybe the woman is a slightly better candidate overall. They’d have equal comp.

Company considers the woman a riskier bet due to possibility she’ll take maternity leave — and considers the man less risky for his ineligibility to take as much leave. 🤷

He’s leaning transactional, but also open to litigation. Any insights/advice on these firms in the TX market? Any to avoid?

I know that people say it’s all about story, but with a certain gpa/gmat score is there a “floor” that you’re safe on? For example would someone with 4.0/780 (not me) be pretty much assured at least 1 M7? Or is there a reasonable chance that all M7s will reject them? Or is their floor just lower (T15 for example)?

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.
