I've gotten interviews from it before.
That's how I've gotten my last 3 jobs. You need to apply within the first 3 days it's posted, otherwise you're going to get lost in the sea of applications.
In real life, you have only a 3-5% chance of your LinkedIn application *even being opened,* even if you’re in the top tenth percentile of applicants. It’s like a raffle ticket. Sure, someone always wins, and the way you phrased your question won’t tell you if it’s pointless. I’ve won a few raffles. But I lost most of them. It’s not pointless to enter, but you better have a solid plan B because it’s not very reliable.
Same I applied and interview and got an offer
Yes. Also get people reaching out on it quite a bit.
Ive actually had some great luck with LinkedIn! Don’t give up on it just yet!
I've gotten one interview out of something like 130 applications on there.

Ive had interviews out of it too.
It works! Not as well as a personal rec but it works. The SEO can be a real bitch sometimes
Definitely works. But of course know that if it's a job everyone wants at google or Facebook or whatever, they're also getting inundated with a ton of resumes and referrals from everywhere else.
It’s easier to do which means lower likelihood of being picked-up because so many people will apply.
But I’m sure it works some of the time.
And again, it’s easy.
I’ve done quite well off LinkedIn postings.
