Or is there a restriction to use any of annual leaves in probabtion.

I am in the process of IVF due to my husband's male factor infertility. I booked a mat leave coverage that was supposed to run from June-Aug. I got 2 weeks in and resourcing called to say they found an internal resource to cover and they were cancelling my contract immediately. It sucked, but I get it. Obviously cheaper to use internal resources. Anything I can do to to protect myself a bit next time? Is it unheard of to write in some type of severance fee clause? Appreciate any help

Need help on how to invest. We are positioned to pay off our house later this year.
