I don’t work in big law, but some of my classmates,who are going into big law, are bragging about the low number of billable hours they are required to hit. I’m hearing 1,600-1,800 billable hours. I need some advice my friends. I interviewed last year for M1 at a big four but ended up coming in as S3 with the expectation to be promoted to M1 within 6-12 months per the interview. Now they are saying target promotion is now end of 2022 (would make it 18 months). Are they just dragging me along since we are short seniors? I’ve now been in public for 6 years now.
