Domestic (US) travel recommendations for December and January?
Looking for scenic and easy to get to locations for a relaxing getaway. Resorts are also an option but want to avoid overcrowded destinations and queues.

I need 20k miles to get AA plat pro status. Planning to go to southeast asia in the fall. $600 for non AA round trip flight or $1100 for AA flight. Is the extra $500 worth it?
