I wore a polo shirt to recent FAANG interviews and I was dressed nicer than interviewers. Think polo is fine.
Thanks. I was wondering whether I need to dust off my dress shirts.
Recently finished interviews for a tech startup and wore a button down no coat or tie throughout every interview. Without fail, my interviewer was in a t shirt, but I think button down is a perfect mix of “no one will claim you were too casual, but also no one can claim it was weird you wore that.” Jacket or tie is weird to me.
This. Also depends on level you are interviewing for (I.e., more senior you are may require you to up your attire). But nobody ever got declined specifically for wearing a suit, whereas somebody could potentially impact interview by wearing a t-shirt.

I have my go to as a black T shirt. Nailed interviews. Don't wear dress shirts though... especially for tech.
I'd probably do a button down with no jacket or tie, but a nice polo shirt would work as well.
