If your gender roles were reversed, you would be fired
See, GSD gets it 😂
Male/married here. If this happened to me I’d just act professional and keep my distance just to be sure. I understand these are very sensitive times BUT if you’re single and she’s single perhaps she’s expressing a little interest. Male or female, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that (Just my 2 cents) amongst young single individuals. If you’re not interested keep your distance and ignore.
Everything doesn’t have to be a Me Too moment. Act like a professional adult and we’ll all be fine.
OP - why can’t you just bring up your GF in casual convo. That should do the trick....
Set up a buddy system. Anytime your female coworker is walking towards your desk, have your buddy cough. Then you immediately jump and hide under your desk until the coast is clear.
Woman perspective here.. I agree, it sounds like she’s coming on too strong. CD1 summed it up well. Be professionally nice but no more, don’t have private chats with her etc.
You sound like a good guy! I bet things will work out when she settles in.
Ehh.. I understand the thought but good looks don’t necessarily equal confidence. If you set professional boundaries I think it’ll all be fine.
It’s just a little crush, not like I faint every time we touch.
Definitely just slip in that you have a girlfriend - like if she asks what you did this weekend “my gf & I..” It will nip in bud. If she’s interested in you professionally and still wants to get lunch you can always invite another coworker along and keep the convo focused on work. As a strategist I like to nerd out w/ fellow nerds & exchange work notes but not always cause I’m romantically interested.
I understand if shes trying to make new friends at work and some girls are just very comfy around guys. But maybe i am misconstruing it as flirty behaviour?
She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys, that she calls friends
#MeToo
Be a pro. But yeah she’s looking for attention. Just do your job.
If you say enough times “i am busy”, she may stop
Just pick up an awful/annoying habit. Like pick your nose when she comes up. Or be super weird.
P.s. what ended up happening?
That’s not how you approach mentors. Not professional.
