Every firm claims to have a “collaborative” or “supportive” culture during interviews. But once you’re inside, it’s the same 11pm emails, passive-aggressive comments, and unspoken rules about who matters and who doesn’t. I’ve worked at two different places now, and despite the branding, the vibes feel eerily similar. Are there actually firms where people are kind, mentorship is real, and boundaries are respected, or is that just a recruiting myth we all pretend to believe?

t’s all a lie. “Nice culture” is just the bait—they still expect you to bleed billables and say thank you for it.

Crying for my RSUs….started at my company about 6 months ago and got some RSUs split over 3 years. Turns out the stock price at time of my hiring (which is what was used to calculate the number of shares over the three years) was the highest it’s ever been. Stock price has been cut in half since then, along with my RSU value. 😭 how do I cope?
