Product manager is a project manager for a product development usually helping track schedule/risks/costs/resources or touching those areas.
Also what's the difference between product and strategy? I thought they were different things but then I see roles like "product manager, strategic planning"
Yeah. sometimes there is p/l responsibility for something, but more likely you're a glorified SME that advocates for a piece of software, maybe you lead some projects etc
thanks guys! I get that they're in charge of a product (hence the name) but I don't understand what the product is when it relates to something non-tangible? If that makes sense? For example, what do product managers at Facebook, Google, etc actually do? Is the product the website? 🤔😣 just asking because I am trying to find a new job and everyone says to look into product mgmt but I just don't get it
Yeah - could be a part of the site. Eg there is probably a product manager for fb search, fb messenger, Google drive. .... Etc.
