I applied with EY for a Senior Manager role I had my first stage interview with a senior manager, which I thought went well as I got the partner interview 2 weeks later, and said I'll be contact within 10 day HR. This did not happen so I chased up. Today I received feedback from HR stating that the senior manager, who would have been my peer, said I didn't have enough experience. But the partner who I would have been working under did like me.

Don't join. No job security. Everyone is trying to survive the upcoming job cuts. It's going to be a blood bath mid year performance cycle. Management is weaponizing PIPs to slave drive employees. Your "nice" coworkers will secretly stab you in the back in peer feedback. Your manager doesn't give a crap about you if the org needs to meet the PIP quota. Be warned!
The comment about "nice" coworkers - that is also a thing to consider. You might feel a team is a good "fit". Many coworkers will appear nice or helpful, but in many teams there is a lot of passive aggressive behavior. UnfortunateIy your coworkers are your competitors trying to survive PIP quotas. Its an unhealthy system, they are just trying to stay off the chopping block. Expect this to increase as they try to cut the number of employees due to recent mergers.
would you be open to talking about your power day and the mini case round?
I negotiated pay and got something higher than what they posted. I recommend keeping your job search going. They have stacked ranking performance management where 8% to 15% get put on a PIP every 6 months. With recent mergers, there is likely more of a push to PIP people out. The pay is good, but there is no job security. Some teams are better than others. If you're lucky you might land in a team that isn't so competitive with keeping your job every 6 months, and where they actually support new team members.
I definitely had varying feelings from chat to chat after Power Day.. so far think I’ve found 1-2 teams that seem like a great fit, but thank you for the context - much appreciated!
