I personally am a fan of sea salt, but any sort of iodized salt should suffice.
You joke but that’s exactly the etymology of the word. Roman soldiers were paid in salt.

How many interviews did you do without discussing range…and why?
At a holding co shop a GCD should be making 270-320 depending on seniority, size of account, etc.
Not a great idea being this specific about the employer and title. For what it’s worth, I discussed compensation from the beginning. Let’s see who gets it first. :)
Oh snap 🫰
So you're telling us you've gone this far in an interview process and never discussed compensation?
I thought this said “god role” for a second and got really excited

Ogilvy NY has had many rounds of layoffs and now have a lot of recently promoted, very green GCDs. So I’m guessing their range starts low.

DM them to me.
I’d go with savory or sweet over salty.

Bizarre to me that you could be expecting an officer and haven’t discussed a salary range. That should be covered in the first screening call.

Offer* damn autocorrect
GCD range is 275-350ish. Can go higher in specific circumstances. Depends on a lot of factors including the accounts you’ll be leading. Signing bonus is something you can ask for. So is an education allowance that can be used towards conference travel.
Biz class being standard was left long ago.
$740k or nothing
Ogilvy is a great agency. But they are notoriously cheap. The bigger the money, the more you have a target on your back. You’ll make more money with longevity and a lower salary than you will getting a huge salary. (401k benefits, stock options, bonuses). I used to laugh at the guys who left Ogilvy and made 300k at a smaller or crappier agency and got whacked six months later. That 300k was now a plug 150k and they’re out of work for a couple years because they move around too much. Don’t go for the salary. Go for the work. And don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched. An offer isn’t an offer until it’s an offer.
Interesting scenario. I just started a new job and the recruiter and I discussed salary before I began the interview phase. I didn’t want to waste either of our time.
At this point, if you get a number you think is too low, you should counter with the salary you think you deserve and that tracks with the position and your expertise. But the other thing you have to consider is how badly you want or need the job.
If nothing else, you can use this offer to leverage a raise with your current employer.
So you must have given the impression you’re very interested, for them to not even ask you about salary before you get an offer.
That or you are actually quite far from an offer, and you think it’s coming but they actually are just moving onto the next candidates. The sequence of events doesn’t make sense here, something is off.
