I came in with 6 years experience
I led the PowerPoint brigade, regurgitating information I pummeled more knowledgable people to give me. O, wait, that's what I do now.
So, you accepted a role and salary that you think is below your experience level. Don't make the same mistake at the next job.
You expect a promotion after only one year?
Yea... But you have only been there for one year.
and I was a Lead in Industry for 6 years
....and am getting paid less than people just a few years out of college. Time to bail.
Well that's how they rope you in, promises of quick promotions, 2 yrs is the norm even if they promise 1 year don't bank on it
Agree.
Come to ACN, they'll throw money at experienced hires. Assuming ur not already here haha
Ok, so now I need advice on a strategy. I'd prefer to stay, but since I was low balled when I started is it possible to bridge the gap or do I need to jump ship for that to happen? Get an offer and go to HR? Does that ever work? Kinda bitter now though.
Level and pay?

This post is laughable. What exactly did you lead in industry? I've found the needed skillsets to be quite different.
Yea, it doesn't sound like you aren't getting promoted quick enough, it sounds like you didn't properly negotiate your job. They are separate issues.
Self awareness could be an issue. Not saying it is but something to think about. It happens a lot in this business.
PwC, you hit the nail on the head. I was in a bubble by staying with the same company for 6 years out of ASU and didn't know the current landscape. I'm debating between going back to Industry or switching firms for a higher salary.
Yeah when I negotiate salary I ask myself "am I comfortable being in this range and level for the next 18-36 months?" If no, there's more conversation to be had.
Acn2, how do u convey that to the recruiter in a way that it'll make u seem like u actually deserve it and not being petty about salary?
