Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

It really depends on what they want to do, I got the feeling that every offering has a different vibe. From Deloitte standpoint.
If he is joining at entry level position then Deloitte. EY is not going to provide him the technical skill set Deloitte will. Deloitte have less work-life balance EY have more WBL but again depends on the engagement. But unless he have family or dependencies I recommend Deloitte Cyber to kick start the career.
Deloitte-lots of projects to choose from and some very interesting clients as well. Good balance of audit and security.
EY- might end going more towards the audit side of the house.
In my personal experience, Deloitte and EY have similar project offerings / experiences. There is a culture of learning more faster, performing at a higher level at Deloitte that EY does not have. However, myself and many others have found that EY is a better fit for long term career growth as burn out is less and you have more flexibility to choose projects that will help you expand into new areas of cyber.
