Sounds like you might just need a few months off. It can seriously do wonders. Highly recommend. I got laid off and had a chance to rest and it was exactly what I needed.
Some kids going to college asked me for career advice. I suggested they find a job where they can help people, work for themselves and make a decent living. If you are already committed to advertising for now, my advice would be to start to take some night classes at university about something completely different that you are really passionate about and see where it goes. Take a few classes each semester and before you know it you will have a new degree and qualification without breaking the bank. Then you will have a choice.

Before you switch careers, maybe you just need to switch brands and maybe switch teams. Easier said than done in this industry’s current situation. But worth a try, before you change everything else. If your company is big enough, it might very well be possible. I switched from Nissan over to Hilton after 6 years and it was super refreshing.

Consider being a creative with a non-profit. You’ll get to still be creative, make a difference and help others. Plus, it’s way loss stress.
