I would ABSOLUTELY do the Taste Carolina Uptown food tour. I promise you this will be a smashing hit for anyone in your group regardless of age- it was one of the most well run and informative things I’ve done with people and the food/drinks at each place are included and all phenomenal. Highly highly recommend this, you’ll walk through uptown, learn some history of the buildings and city, and try a ton of food and drinks. It meets at Disco Chicken so you can do the Museum of Illusions beforehand and walk over or go to the Mint Museum and the pocket park across the street, will also likely be during Charlotte SHOUT so a ton of activity will be happening there. Can’t encourage it enough- it’s a must do for people just visiting for the first time (great for work too).
This is great. I’ll look into t he food tour! Hadn’t thought about that
A little shorter in duration but covers more area: https://funnybus.net/charlotte/
White Water Center, Crowder’s Mountain (easy hike), some good breweries around NoDa/southend/LoSo, bring them by the panthers stadium/baseball field
In LoSo, I would recommend Olde Meck, Rally, Queen Park Social, and 4001 Yancey (all within walking distance).
Near Hawkers is Pins Mechanical—would cater to a large group like yours.
If they’re from cities/towns that don’t have a light rail/metro, it would be fun to hop on the light rail together so that they can explore the city. I’d recommend food tour stops at 7th street market, Monarch Market, and optimist hall.
