Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Everyone is hiring Manager/SM level positions
Because that’s where all the layoffs occurred last year.
The real joke here is I have experience with EYP from prior engagement in 2020 so people still know me, I reached out about transferring, they got engagement and practice level approvals for me over the course of a couple months including a few informal interviews, and then the consulting side wouldn’t allow me to leave. In other words, the firm is telling me it would be better if I leave and try to come back (or just leave) than to try to internally transfer from the consulting side. And I have now heard about some other cases of this as well, seems like that whole firm is understaffed.
That is the unfortunate truth. It is easier for external hires to join EYP vs internal transfers.
