Ok so I just joined this bowl and am newly pregnant with my 1st, so while I can’t offer practical advice, can I just say some encouraging words from seeing this years down the road? My mother had her 3rd at 40 while working in a very high up positioning a rigorous (not very female) field, by mistake. She also freaked out. But now as her friends are feeling old and kids are out of the house and having empty nest syndrome, she is still in the swing of things and having fun with her 3rd. That 3rd kid was like the glue my family needed- we all love them so so much they are like the family’s angel. Just attended their college graduation a year ago and couldn’t imagine being closer or better as a family. That third child keeps us all young and tight as a family, when the older children (myself) starting veering off to make our own families. It was hard for a couple years, but then the older kids started helping out, and it ended up being the biggest gift in her life.
Thank you for this!!
This literally happened to me last year. I did IVF for my two boys and on the month of my second (and what I thought last) son’s 1st birthday I got pregnant after sex once with my husband. I had gone off birth control temporarily thinking there was no way in hell. We were traveling nonstop so intimacy was rare. And of course, at 41, I get a positive fucking test. I was shocked, thrilled, then frankly I was angry angry angry. But she’s here now and I’m so in love. It’s a disaster bc logistics are out of control but she’s pure joy.
That’s my thinking - I’m still figuring out the logistics with two so I can’t imagine adding a third to the mix. “It’s a disaster but she’s pure joy” will need to be my new mantra!
Congratulations. Deep breaths. Just had one at 41. Was actually easier than 34! You got this.
congrats! i’m 40 working on my second and it’s been like 3 years. i already have an almost seven year old. been a tough road on our side. so it’s wonderful to hear a great news story like this. sending you lots of positive energy and congrats again!
Thank you!! Hang tight - I really thought it wasn’t going to happen with my second. And now here we are.... after one time!! 🤯🤯🤯😍😍
Congratulations!! That’s so exciting.
Congrats!!
Thanks for the support, y’all. I just can’t believe how fast this happened. And I know this is the wrong way to think about it but - how do we survive in advertising with three small kids? I’m much more terrified now than I was with my second...
Please feel free to DM me.
Aww congrats!!
Thanks!
Congrats! Had my last one just shy of 41! Needed fertility treatments for the first two so very shocking but so happy to have him.
Got pregnant with our second after doin’ it one time days after deciding we were officially one and done... Irony’s a real B.
You got this mama! You’ve figured it out thus far - you can make it work. Line up lots of help, ok? And enjoy!!!
Fishies, if anyone still gets notified about this thread - first, thank you all so much for the love and support. Unfortunately this kiddo was not meant to be - the baby stopped developing before the heartbeat formed. But I wanted to thank this group for giving me the strength to put aside my fear and really enjoy the excitement and anticipation for the time I had to dream about this Peanut. 💕💕💕
