Fellow 🐠, need some advice. My wife used to work for Accenture for 7 yrs and had to quit job, as she had to come to US with me. She has not been working for close to 6 yrs now, as she did not have work authorization. Now she has received work authorization and would like to join back but haven’t been able to land any interviews. She has a IAM background and did some proactive aws certs. Any guidance to get into a consulting firm as an entry level associate? She just wants to get back to work..

What puzzles do people generally get as a question in senior data analyst role interviews ?

Is there a ceiling in BD&L work both in consulting and in industry for those who didn’t do a PhD or MD? I feel like most of the individuals I see in these roles at senior levels have one or both degrees. Am I “wasting” time taking projects in these spaces if I only plan on getting an MBA?

I'm SVP/strategy for a PR agency. I moved into PR, Healthcare, and Strategic Planning only 3 years ago. An agency recruiter is trying to convince me to move into a GSVP account role, assuring me "at that level it's all strategy." (I dont think she understands the words she's using. Or that I'm qualified). But long-term, knowing account roles are so much more plentiful than brand planning in PR, I'm wondering if I should start thinking about account. Anyone here moved from strategy to account?

I appeared for a few such interviews in FMCD firms and haven't yet managed to crack them.

I work as a Solution Specialist (sales rep) at an Authorizer Verizon retailer. Phone/wireless sales is not something I want to do forever. I’m job searching right now and applied for a job I was a little overqualified for just to shoot my shot and get my foot in the door with a great brand. The hiring mgr took the time to email me to tell me I was overqualified and offered to help me get connected to his network. He’s been so kind and helpful and I’m kind of in shock at his generosity. Even if an offer doesn’t come from it, is it weird if I send him a Starbucks gift card or something as a thank you? What’s appropriate?

Does anyone work in an area with lots of exterior environmental noise (traffic, concerts, trains, etc.) and have tips for not becoming overwhelmed and/or distracted by it? I’m finding that environmental noise has increased near my office now that tourism has picked back up in my city, and I’m struggling to block it out. My bosses boss a plagiarized an article of mine and I’m not sure what I should do. What would you do. An exec two levels above me took one of my published articles removed my name and posted it to a different site with the only changes being removing my name and adding theirs.
