I have an offer for a Sr. Associate role (level below manager), joining date is in December. I was wondering what I can do to prepare myself for the job. Are there any online courses, books, exercises that would help me to excel in my job.

Want to make it work anyhow, I do not have strategy consulting exp, most of my work has been PMO, Tech transformations with big4.

I got a follow up call on an application for a "Remote" position. Talked to the recruiter and was told they planned a mandatory return to the office in the next year and the position was only "Remote" until then. Has anyone else see this?

My old employer asked me if I wanted to come back to the company as a manager. The pay will likely be much better and the position holds more responsibility than I’ve had before, so overall it would be a step up. The issue is I left the company because of an abusive manager who constantly put me down and made me feel like I wasn’t doing anything right. If I come back I’d be working under her again. Been with company for 2.5 years in a SFA role, and they just let me hire an associate financial analyst reporting into me. My manager never mentioned anything in regards to a promotion, but when I asked, I was told that there will be an evaluation period before any promotion is given. Has anyone else had this before, where you are managing someone but they don’t give you a promotion? Sounds bizarre to me that they allow me to hire someone but then are hesitant to promote.

I have a question, I got a contract role through a recruiter. Initially the recruiter offered the hourly pay rate which was the minimum in my range. Now I got an offer from the company. Now without me asking her she increased the hourly wage to the maximum range I asked. Which makes me doubt if the company increased it or she knew the rate all along but gave me the lower rate ?

Had a final round at BCG last Friday. After the interviews they said that the would release results today. Then I got an email today saying they will only give the results on the next Friday. What could have happened?? I also know some people how interviewed on the same day as mine and got a rejection email today.

I have an interview coming up for BCG but due to some personal reasons might need to push it a few weeks. What’s the likelihood the firm will be OK with pushing / is it even worth asking?
