Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.
So here are my questions.
How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.
When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.
Thanks in advance!

I got an eero kit of three in April and it’s been great. I think the key question is, is your internet service so fast that it needs 6? I only subscribe to 60-100 Mbps so I couldn’t make use of the extra capacity anyway.
Lastly, at least at that point, WiFi6 routers were few, far between, and exorbitantly expensive.

Same- we upgraded to the eero mesh WiFi kit, and haven’t had any issues. Noticeable improvement
Do your priorities include gaming/streaming? Low ping? Do your household members use zoom/teams often throughout the day? Are you planning on upgrading your phone or gaming systems this year?

In that case it’s worth looking at them at least. If it doesn’t reach all the corners of your space, then you might look into a mesh network because they involve multiple stations around the house to eliminate dead spots.
I haven’t looked at CNET for years but you can also get good reviews elsewhere such as Wirecutter.

I know nothing about technology and just go with CNET reviews
Agreed with CNET recommendation
I would recommend it only if you have a lot of devices connecting to the router and have very high internet speed. Like 100+ mbps.
WiFi 5 devices will be more than enough if you get a dual band router. I would go with Netgear. The nighthawk routers are good.

Eero is my choice, especially if you value stability and no downtime. I tried different Orbis and the Nest. They all kept dropping nodes randomly.
Eero has been bulletproof for the last three months. No downtime. Worth every penny.
WiFi 6 doesn’t matter unless you have 500+ mbps up/down internet at home.
