Ours is almost exclusively hours based - if you hit your goal you get the bonus, if not you don’t. They do say “special circumstances will be taken into consideration” but I haven’t heard of any instances an associate didn’t hit their hours and still got a bonus...
Y’all get two bonuses ?
My firm has a reduced hours requirement (1850) for the special bonus and the normal (1950) for your regular year end bonus.
Thank you!
If firms require hitting hours to get the special bonuses, that wouldn’t be market since the firms that already paid out special bonuses didn’t. So I suspect the really big firms that always match the market will say the special bonus is regardless of hours while the regular year end bonus is tied to hours. Just my guess. My firm has been silent altogether so far.
Seems like it’s split. My firm requires associates to be on pace to hit their hours for the fall bonus, but have seen others with a billable hour requirement for the usual bonus say special bonuses are paid without taking into account hours.
Probably depends on the firm. Mine will most likely/definitely require you to hit hours to get both and even then it’s technically still discretionary.
